Finally, the auditions roll back to New York where we witness the unfolding of 212 Green, a Harlem-based band whose members look up to Mel B not only for her talent but also for embracing her bi-racial line. This band is one worth watching: they’re hip, they’ve got talent and they express themselves well. After their performance, the subsequent acts turn out to be dismal, save the comedic routine of former correctional officer Al Harris. He may have taken a lot of terms literally to demonstrate his jokes (e.g. hammering a stool and calling it a “stool softener”) to the disappointment of Stern and the women but hey, he still has Howie rooting for him to the end.
